Terms & Conditions
The terms that apply when you request a quote from, or engage, Security Cam for CCTV, alarm and video intercom work.
These terms and conditions govern the supply of goods and services by EA Electrics Pty Ltd trading as Security Cam (ABN 83 140 439 239), NSW Security Licence S00005013 (“Security Cam”, “we”, “us”). By requesting a quote or engaging us to carry out work, you agree to these terms.
1. Quotes and pricing
Prices shown on our website and in quotes are indicative and based on a standard installation. Your final price may change after a site assessment — for example, where cabling runs are difficult, additional equipment is needed, or access is restricted. A quote is valid for 30 days from its date unless stated otherwise. All prices include GST unless noted.
2. Bookings and deposits
We may require a deposit to confirm a booking and order equipment. The balance is payable on completion of the work unless we agree otherwise in writing. We will make reasonable efforts to install on the agreed date, but times may be affected by supply, weather or circumstances beyond our control.
3. Your responsibilities
- Provide safe, reasonable access to the property and power
- Confirm you own the property or have the owner’s consent to install
- Ensure any cameras and recording comply with the law (see clause 7)
- Keep your recorder, app logins and passwords secure
4. Installation and workmanship
We install using trade-grade equipment and take care to work cleanly and safely. Some cabling, drilling and mounting is unavoidable; we will discuss the planned approach with you before we begin. Minor patching and making good is included, but painting, rendering and major building repairs are not.
5. Warranty
Equipment carries the manufacturer’s warranty. In addition, we warrant our installation workmanship for 12 months from completion. Warranty does not cover faults caused by misuse, tampering, unauthorised changes, power surges, pests, water damage, or normal wear. To make a claim, contact us with your invoice details.
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms limits those rights.
6. Payment
Invoices are payable by the due date shown. We may suspend support or warranty while an account is overdue, and title in supplied equipment remains with us until payment is received in full.
7. Lawful use of CCTV
You are responsible for using your security system lawfully. This includes camera placement, recording of audio, and any signage or notice obligations under the Surveillance Devices Act 2007 (NSW) and related laws. We can advise on good practice, but the ongoing lawful use of the system is your responsibility.
8. Liability
A security system reduces risk but cannot guarantee against theft, damage or harm. To the extent permitted by law, and subject to clause 5, our liability for any claim is limited to re-supplying the relevant service or the cost of doing so. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
9. Cancellation
If you cancel a confirmed booking, we may retain a reasonable amount to cover ordered equipment and scheduled time. We may cancel or reschedule where a site is unsafe or the work differs materially from what was quoted.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force is the one published on this page at the date of your quote or booking.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you submit to the courts of that state.
